You can't begin to address the moisture or relative humidity until any standing water is eliminated, now and in the future. Drying the greatest source of wetness is a must, as this adds large amounts of moisture into the air and causes all the problems associated with a damp crawl space.

The SmartSump crawl space sump pump is specifically engineered to fit into the typically low, damp environment of the crawl space. Designed to work in conjunction with the CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System, the SmartSump not only pumps out water, but is smart enough to alert you to an indoor plumbing leak, which could go undetected for months in a crawl space. Although the lid is airtight, a floor drain on the cover will drain down water and pump it away in the case of a plumbing leak.

What Makes Up the SmartSump
The SmartSump crawl space sump pump uses a high quality, 1/3 horsepower cast-iron Zoeller pump with an automatic float switch. The sump pump cover and unique sump basin fit perfectly with the CleanSpace crawl space vapor barrier for an airtight seal.

If you're like most people who typically don't enter their crawl space too often, you need to know if there is a plumbing leak. The SmartSump's unique lid design has a built-in alarm that sounds if it comes in contact with water. Once the alarm sounds, the water then flows down a special airtight floor drain into the basin where it is pumped away. The drain is airtight so damp, musty air does not rise up into your crawl space. The alarm also alerts you to pump failure for any reason, including power outages. A knock-out hole is also available to accept the discharge from a SaniDry CSB crawl space dehumidifier.

Optional Battery Back-up Sump Pump Protection
The SmartSump is available with or without an optional UltraSump Battery Back-up pumping system. The UltraSump has a second pump in case of primary pump failure, a second switch, in case of switch failure, and second power source, in case of power failure.

The UltraSump can pump over 8,000 gallons of water out of your crawl space from the energy stored in the sealed, long-term standby battery. There is a charging system that keeps the battery charged when the battery is on, and an alarm to tell you the secondary pump is operating. This protection is optional, but highly recommended.
